Brett has been kicked out of many places;
but an entire country is a first.
POMPANO BEACH...........ahhhh lovin' the vibe. After being kicked out of Costa we decided to do a month rental in sunny Pompano Beach, just north of Fort Lauderdale. We LOVE the FLL airport and like to stay close because of so many flight opportunities. The Saab is tucked away in storage in Detroit, so we hoofed it around Pompano with no problems. What a fantastic beach, chill vibe and great place to figure out how to use a MacBook and formulate our blog.
The website/blog journey began. We had a MacBook Air shipped to us and we dove into learning how to operate the new little pink monster. Both of us nearing 50 and going from being Microsoft Office to Apple Mac was like a daily brain game, switching teams, country folk to city folk, moving to another country. Hell, it was like getting used to a new spouse!
Carmen worked on the Mac and Brett worked on securing a website, learning how to program and set up our format. We have problem solved a lot of stuff but this has proved to be quite the challenge for our 50 year old brains.
It is the kind of beach that you could create your own "Carona Beer" commercial. We did do some digging into the fact that the sand was just a bit too white for the area and did uncover the fact that they bring in sand from The Bahamas.
Proof. We caught them one day "Beach Closed" we have to haul in some more sand. They call it the Florida "Beach Restoration Project" Crazzzzzzzyyyyyy shit right here. It is a serious crime all the resources they waste on this beach.
Our Air B and B Rental for the month. Such a darling and convenient place to call home. We loved the outdoor space and the beach was just across the street. We will have booking ideas and "how to" get the best price on rentals in our tips section.
Jimmy Buffet is always right. Brett blew out his flip flop.
Living pretty simple this month. Our routine was spot on. We had long morning walks, coffee on the beach at sunrise, afternoon beach time, laundry at the laundry mat (only one load every week or so, that is the awesome thing about living in swim suits) and cheering on the Bengals every Sunday. When we weren't doing this we were working on figuring out the Mac and website design.
Brett showing some night moves on our rare evening walk.
The Atlantic Blvd Draw Bridge. We enjoyed watching boats in the ICW. The draw bridge never gets old. Part of the allure of FLL is the ICW access.
Here is my stuff. Packing cubes and my backpack. Traveling with one backpack is very empowering and simple. Yes, that is why we are always wearing the same shit in all our photos.
November 8--Exactly one month later. Back at FLL (Our #1 Rated airport. We should be on their commercial) headed back to Costa Rica. We booked a "penny fare" for $10.89 USD with Spirit Airlines. We will chat more about this super PMA money saving tip! Hope to see you in Costa!
