How do get FREE city tours from Incheon Airport

Past Travels 2019 trip

This was just a blip on our radar, a lucky 22-hour stop on our travels. If you are ever en route and have the chance for a layover in South Korea we would say hell yes, do it.

There is a program where you go to the info desk at the Incheon airport and ask for “transit tours”. They are free and you can sign up for as many as you wish. Click on airport.kr to see all the details.

We took 3 separate city tours including a food tour, an old town, and a soccer tour. It was a jam-packed experience but something worth doing if it fits in your pack mule adventure.

Just hanging out in the Seoul airport is a trip in itself. Our experience was so brief in the city, that it was more like a "cruise ship" stop qualification. We for sure got good vibes, enjoyed the hospitality, and would put it on a pretty cool city list.

It was a rainy day--don't forget your umbrella.

I ate Kimchi fermented spicy and sour veggies. Kimchi has become super popular in the US, but to Koreans, it is popular due to its significant cultural value. They consider a meal is not complete without Kimchi. Brett had some chicken dishes.

We zipped up our rain jackets and walked all around the old town until we stumbled into a small pub where we ordered a couple of beers at a small brew house which were pretty tasty.

Seoul World Cup (Sangam Stadium) Stadium Tour. We aren't soccer fans, but found this intimate tour pretty cool.

Fantastic architecture, ancient and old, karoke bars, innovative and very modern city. Super neat airport......what an experience in itself. Definitely putting a proper trip to South Korea on our Pack Mule list.
